Food was very poor quality and exceedingly over priced. I ordered salmon risotto, the fish was dry and was only 1-inch x 2-inches costing $34. My partner had sweet n sour pork ($28) which had very little meat. My friends had a deep fried platter with 2 chicken nuggets, 2 spring rolls, 2 onion rings and soggy oven chips. All these were on the a la carte menu. I've tasted better food at a cheap takeaway. The prices were also plus 15% due to public holiday surcharge. Ladies who served us were lovely. I'd never recommend this place to anyone not even a dog.
Great service! Very accommodating and welcoming despite us coming late for our booking. The staff are also very nice to us. We were served by Kathleen who is very friendly and professional. Food was also great and they had a variety of dishes to choose from! Definitely going back!
Stopped for a quick meal while driving through recently. Had the beef burger, which isn’t my usual choice, and it was superb - best beef burger I’ve had in 10+ years. Juicy meat, fresh ingredients, presented well. Tasty chips, and even a small salad on the side. It was so good that I came back and ordered it again when I stayed in Tekapo on my way back at the end of the week. It was just as good the second time around. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable both times; very inviting. Filled up my water bottles for the rest of my drive on the first visit too. Highly recommend.
I stopped in for a hearty lunch on Friday 12/7/24. I ordered pork ribs and a drink from a friendly lady behind the bar. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and views not too bad. Unfortunately the meal was probably the worst ribs meal I’ve ever had. I got 3 ribs with no meat on them, plus two little pork pieces. It was mainly a large plate of basic chips. I was so disappointed. I’ve never seen such a messily serving. And for $42 (Coke included) I won’t be back. I last stopped before the fire many years ago and the place was a classic Kiwi pub. Definitely gone down hill with what looks to be new’ish owners since then. Gutted!
