Great steak on hot stone! Fresh and tasty ???? I was there with a group of my Polish friends And all of them have positive opinion on Mackenzies. I hope to visit it once again. Thanks!

One of the more popular restaurant at Lake Tekapo. Their hot stone steak is quite popular but it’s more for the experience rather than quality of the meat. We ordered 2 ribeye steaks and they were both overdone from what was stated. Lamb rack was good though. The mash potato went very well with the lamb. Can drop by you’re in the area. Plenty of parking nearby.

I had dinner twice here, the staff was was friendly, always checking if you need anything and the food was very good too. I had their rib eye steak the first time the steak was not medium cooked but the taste of the whole dish was very good so I decided to have it one more time. The second time the steak was cooked to medium. Pairing it with an Alpha Domus wine which made it perfect and why not add a garlic bread as well.

Everything tasted alright, nothing too special, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating and the service was very good.

Our server was very nice. Polite and welcoming. Food was also good and the burger made me cry - I was happy to have eaten something so nice. The tomato soup was also lovely. Nice and tangy, it's no canned stuff ya. The fish and chips were normal, nothing stood out. The cook-your-own steak. Now. This is gorgeous. Can't blame anyone if the meat is tough! But bet you won't be able to mess it up. The meat itself was great! Super hot stone topped with salt all over and the meat will be placed on top. Sizzle but better! Had a good view of the Lake too should you sit close to the windows. We were to hungry to bother about table placements ????
