We did the crater star gazing experience. Highly recommend ???????? My young kids were a bit tired (5 & 7????way over bed time), but they loved it and had a great learning experience... First time ever used the professional telescopes. The surface of the moon was bright and right in front of my eyes ???? Amazing experience! The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and great to listen to. Took a couple of photos with my phone (Followed the minimal light pollution rules)I have tried my best ????....

Excellent experience, could only do the virtual experience as the tours are booked well in advance. But was a great learning experience for adults an children alike. Also they brought out an expert to answer some of the trickier universe questions after. They also have a good diner, but pays to book ahead as it's popular! Food was very good. They sell a range of clothing etc, and the staff were very helpful. Will go again.

I only came by to have dinner at the diner so didn't participate in the star gazing (otherwise it would probably be a 5*). The entrance has a small shop where you can grab some interesting souvenirs. There is also the Brashear telescope whish is visible behind the glass wall. I would've like to give it a go if we had more time. You are able to purchase tickets on the day but also online.

Just literally awe inspiring. We took a trip through the galaxy with an incredibly passionate and informative astronomer. Cannot recommend this team and their work enough. Kinda low level obsessed about helping find a path to all of Aotearoa becoming a dark sky sanctuary. We will be back!

We did the Summit Experience on a clear sky day where the only complaint was how bright the moon was. This is the first time our group ages 8-76yo had seen the stars, moon, and planets with such remarkable detail. I’ll never look at the stars the same! There were 4 telescopes and knowledgeable staff to lead us through the night. This is a “must do” on your trip through Tekapo.
