One of the few eateries in the area that opens till late. Best to make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment. We didn’t reserve but were very lucky to be squeezed in at around 8pm. The food was delicious!! We ordered mushroom croquettes, gnocchi, chef’s special (grilled fish) and mulled wine. Portions were generous and the chef’s special was especially tasty. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
My partner and I came here for dinner on Sunday and we were blown away! The restaurant itself was inviting and cozy. We were well looked after - especially with my dietary requirements - and our waiter (I suspect the Duty Manager) and waitress went above and beyond. Their service was incredible - extremely hard to find nowadays. They were extremely knowledgable about the food and gave excellent recommendations; their fried chicken and Summer Cherry is an absolute must have if you're visiting Lake Tekapo. Everything about this restaurant was fantastic. Delicious food - ordered beef burgundy, soup and lamb. The beef burgundy was top notch. Thick, rich and hearty sauce. Soft and big chunks of beef. Chunky mushrooms. The kitchen team pulled it off well. Lamb was juicy with a generous serving of potatoes. The meals came out fairly quick too around
We were served by James who was warm and friendly. He made us feel very comfortable and was helpful recommending some dishes to us. We ordered beef burgundy and venison and they are really good! Highly recommend!
My husband and I had a lovely dinner there recently. We are both gluten and dairy free and staff let us know what items met our requirements. We both settled on the slow cooked beef cheek and they substituted the normal bread for some gluten free bread, and changed the mash for some vegetables. It was beautifully cooked and very tender. Would definitely recommend and go again
